Two Peas in a Pod

My cousin, Lisa, asked me to decorate a styrofoam cake with fondant.  The theme was “two peas in a pod” for twin girls.  The colors were brown and pink.

Birthday Smiles

Our church holds an annual birthday party for our Keenagers (people over 55 I think...). They asked me to make a cake in pastel colors with smiley faces on it. It is sour cream pound cake with buttercream icing.

Goin' to the Chapel.....

I had the HONOR of making my sister's wedding cake this past weekend. While it was an honor, I would have to say it was a labor of love. Just kidding! I am such a perfectionist, and buttercream is a perfectionist's nightmare!!! But without further ado, here it is:

It was the good ole standard-sour cream pound cake and buttercream icing. It tasted FABULOUS if I must say so. I try to accomplish something new with each cake I make. This was the largest to date. It fed 75 people! So, how do you think I did? Be honest.

Tea Time!

Our church hosted the 1st Annual Mother Daughter Tea, Saturday, May 8th. I wanted to post a picture of the centerpiece I did for the beverage table.

This table and tea set is actually not cake. It is styrofoam covered in fondant, with a fondant tea set. I thought it turned out pretty cute.

Bodie's Tree

Remember my tree cake? Well it made a return for Bodie's big debut. Here is the tree cake, again, but with added leaf letters spelling out his name!

Shelby's Sweet 16

This was a sour cream pound cake with butter cream icing. All decorations (excluding the sunglasses) are made of fondant. This one was fun to make! Who doesn't love a little hot pink and black?
What do you think?

Baby, Baby

This cake was for a baby shower. This has to be one of my favorites. I am not in love with the "L", because this was made at 3 am! However, I am happy overall with how it turned out. It is covered in fondant, with hand-made fondant features and paci.

Go Gators

I made this cake for our Ladies Luncheon, to go with my Gator-themed table. It is covered in fondant with a fondant bow.

And Baby Makes Tree

My cousin is having a baby boy, and her theme is woodland animals. This cake is pound cake, covered in fondant leaves. Each leaf was hand-cut and veined, and placed on the cake. The animals are all hand-made out of fondant. The stand is a custom tree-trunk stand.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

My brother-in-law loved the Ninja Turtles when he was little. My sister asked me to recreate his favorite turtle. This is a buttercream yellow cake with fondant facial features.

Tinkerbell for a Fairy Princess

This cake is a buttercream pound cake, with fondant stripes, flowers and bow. This was my first bow.

FSU Seminoles

This was my first attempt at buttercream, and hand carving.

Under The Sea

This is a fondant pound cake with a sculpted octopus, made out of rice cereal treats. This was my second attempt at fondant, and my first at fondant figurines.
